Protecting Our Core Values
I understand that the morals we teach and uphold in Middle Tennessee are the backbone of our way of life. That's why I have worked to defend the sacred institution of marriage and to protect the rights of the unborn. Protection and adherence to those laws along with the protection of prayer and our American flag are values I will not compromise.
Some courts believe the phrase “under God” doesn’t belong in official American society. This strikes at the core of our rights and liberties, and the courts, in this instance, have overstepped their boundaries. This is not only unsettling, but an abuse of judicial review.
In the Congress, I would vote in a manner that would protect families and state governments from Washington’s interference in issues that are the province of families and states.
On the issue of marriage, I support traditional marriage and oppose alternative definitions of marriage; I oppose recognizing any other definition of marriage.
I support legislation that protects the lives of the unborn and have been a staunch supporter of issues dealing with life. I am a pro-life, pro-family candidate.
I oppose taking tax money to fund abortions or abortion clinics. The use of public money to pay for a procedure that many Americans find abhorrent runs counter the values we hold dear. I also am opposed to any federal money given to a non-governmental organization that provide abortions or promote abortion as a method of family planning in America or in any country.
