Tax Reform
As a small business owner, I have always been a strong believer in the economic power of lower taxes and I will staunchly defend that position in Congress.
All options for lowering the tax burden on Americans should be on the table. In its desire to play favorites with the tax code, the Congress has allowed our tax laws to become a confusing mess of more than 2 million words that penalizes hard work and achievement. I am prepared to give serious consideration to a fair tax. I support repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax, simplifying the tax code and reducing rates. Congress should make it a priority to put families first.
Taxpayers deserve to have a federal government that does not grow beyond their ability to pay for it. They have a right to receive back each dollar that they entrust to the government for their retirement. We all have right to expect the government to balance the budget without having our taxes raised. Taxpayers also have a right to a simple, fair tax code that they can understand.
While working to provide meaningful tax relief to hardworking Americans, I believe it is imperative that Congress commit to reduce Federal spending. Just as tax relief helps American families and spurs economic growth, so out of control federal spending places undue burdens on Americans for generations to come. In Congress, I will be an outspoken advocate for fiscal restraint, consistently calling for more sanity and accountability in government.
