  • 2010-07-26: Zelenik Campaign Blasts Diane Black For False Advertising

Zelenik Campaign Blasts Diane Black For False Advertising Murfreesboro---Sixth District Congressional Candidate Lou Ann Zelenik has responded to her opponent, Diane Black, for running a completely false attack on Zelenik. In her latest television ad Black accuses Zelenik, as a public official, of supporting a one thousand dollar tax increase on Rutherford County families. Jay Heine, Zelenik's campaign manager, has responded by charging Black with running the false ad. “Lou Ann Zelenik has never even held an elected office, and therefore never had the opportunity to support or vote for a tax increase. Lou Ann would never support tax increases”, said Heine. "The willingness of Diane Black to simply make up a charge out of thin air says much more about senator Black's desperation and morality than perhaps anyone could have suspected." Heine continued, "For senator Black to do this is more proof that being a professional politician has taught her very bad lessons. Dishonesty and duplicity are among those lessons. Senator Black does not want to discuss the money she voted for her husband's company and she doesn't want to talk about voting to break the Copeland cap on spending so she could increase the state budget burden on Tennessee taxpayers by billions of dollars. She also doesn't want to discuss supporting an across the board sales tax increase and she is quite willing to misrepresent any portion of the truth. " Heine concluded, "Diane Black has proven though her actions what type of person she really is and now all the voters in the sixth district can see the truth. Her liberal voting record on taxing and spending, her attempt to make sanctuary counties for illegals in her senate district, her support for the anchor baby provisions in current law, and her vote for driving certificates for illegals are reasonable issues to discuss. But to avoid defending the indefensible, she has gone as low as any politician I have ever been exposed to." Zelenik is campaigning for the GOP nomination in Tennessee's sixth congressional district. It has been held by long time Democrat Congressman Bart Gordon who announced his retirement late last year. Zelenik is a Murfreesboro businesswoman, former Chair of the Rutherford County GOP, and a leader in the Middle Tennessee Tea Party movement. She announce her candidacy last fall, and Gordon announced his retirement shortly afterwards." Anyone interested in her campaign can stop by the headquarters at 416B Medical Center Parkway, Murfreesboro TN, 37129 or call (615) 962-7716.

  • 2010-03-10: Zelenik would return nation to original intent

Last week I wrote a letter to the editor regarding the demise of this great nation pointing to the corruption of the lobbying industry as one of the major causes. I am still of that belief. It is a $3.5 billion-plus industry. If one doesn't think that money is not buying influence, they are either naive or simply choose to look the other way, which of course is the problem. Nonetheless, in that letter I asked the question how can this be fixed? It is a monumental task and one I am still skeptical about. However, there is only one way I feel we can weed out the hags that are there for themselves and not the folks. And that's to elect candidates like us. Normal working folks that have made their way in the private sector, not in politics. And we soon have a chance to do just that in the upcoming GOP primary. Lou Ann Zelenik is running for the GOP nomination for representative of the 6th District of Tennessee. This is the seat Bart Gordon is vacating. She is a business person and not a career politician. She has met payrolls and grown businesses. She is one of us and I believe would be a great start in weeding out those hags that aren't looking out for us. If you want a shot at getting our nation back to what the founders envisioned please support her in the GOP primary and again in the election this fall. Time is running out. • 2010-02-25: ZELENIK BLASTS OBAMA HEALTHCARE PLAN

In a statement released today, Sixth District Congressional Candidate Lou Ann Zelenik has denounced Barak Obama's latest healthcare reform plan. In her statement, Zelenik blasted Obama's plan as "A blueprint for increased spending, increased taxes, loss of freedom, and a threat to innocent life." Attempting to jump-start his reform of the health care system, which is floundering badly in Congress, Obama released an eleven page national healthcare overhaul on Monday in preparation for his meeting with congressional leaders today. "In just eleven pages, President Obama has increased the cost of nationalizing our healthcare system to 1 trillion dollars, increased the tax burden by 500 billion dollars, placed freedom robbing mandates on American workers and businesses, yet he could not find one sentence to protect the unborn from federally funded abortions." Zelenik said. Zelenik, a Murfreesboro businesswoman and former Chair of the Rutherford County Republican Party, is running for the GOP nomination to fill the seat of retiring Congressman Bart Gordon. Zelenik continued, "A lot of people on both sides of the aisle want reform." She said. "I believe we can have meaningful market based reforms that provide access and reasonable costs. By simply allowing folks to purchase healthcare policies across state lines, having tort reform, and by allowing high risk insurance pools for those with pre-existing conditions, we can improve healthcare, and protect the freedoms Americans are supposed to have." Zelenik, who has also been a key organizer of the grassroots tea party movement, further stated, " My campaign for Congress has been based upon the idea of returning the government to 'We The People', and the effort to socialize the best healthcare system in the world is the greatest example of why we need new representation that believes in the American people, not an overbearing federal government. Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi simply do not represent the traditional values the folks in Tennessee believe in. What we don't need is just more of the same tired rhetoric by professional office holders looking for a sound bite to get elected." ###
