Rutherford County GOP Chairman Calls on Congressman to Face the Voters

I call upon Congressman Gordon to come here, to the Sixth District, and explain his votes to the people who elect him.

 

 

MURFREESBORO,TN - Lou Ann Zelenick, Chairman of the Rutherford County Republican Party today issued the following statement on Congressman Bart Gordon's lack of accessibility to his constituents during the August Congressional recess: "I call upon Congressman Gordon to come here, to the Sixth District, and explain his votes to the people who elect him. His actions as a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee as well as recent news accounts reveal how easily he turns his back on the values of the district and hands his vote over to the liberal leadership in Congress. Middle Tennesseans did not send Bart Gordon to Washington so he can rubber stamp the Pelosi-Obama agenda of taxpayer funded abortions and heaping new energy taxes on us that will kill job creation in the Tennessee Valley. Now, according to the Lebanon Democrat, we understand that Congressman Gordon is refusing to disclose what, if any, events he is scheduling to come back to Middle Tennessee to face the music. Bart Gordon was elected to be accountable to those of us he represents. Telephone and internet town halls are just not good enough. Hiding from us to avoid criticism is disrespectful to the people and our democracy."
