Murfreesboro, TN - Lou Ann Zelenik, Candidate for Congress in Tennessee's Sixth District reacted to tonight's victory by Pat Marsh in the House District 62 special election with the following statement:

"I had the honor of being on hand tonight to congratulate Pat Marsh and his family for a strong victory in the special election. Pat ran a great race and I am grateful that his positive message was heard by the voters in Bedford, Rutherford and Lincoln counties.

Pat is a wonderful example of a business owner stepping forward to offer himself for public service. Tennesseans who understand the effects of government on the ability of businesses to create jobs and grow our economy are exactly the kind of men and women we need serving our state. That he was able to get his message out despite the empty and negative campaign waged by the Democrats speaks to the desire for change in Tennessee and builds momentum for conservatives in 2010."

Primary Issues

  • Spending and the Expansion of Government - Federal government spending has gotten out of control and as a result we are saddling our children and future generations with unsustainable amounts of debt.
  • Healthcare - The U.S healthcare system is the best in the world, and it is vital that we not only continue to keep it the best but work to increase access to it so every American can receive the care they need.
  • Energy Independence & Our Environment - The taxes and radical environmental policies of the Democratic leadership are breaking the backs of working families and the businesses that employee them.
