Gordon Endorses "Die Quickly" Congressman with Contribution

Sixth District Congressional Candidate Lou Ann Zelenik today condemned a last minute contribution Congressman Bart Gordon provided to Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) the day after Grayson declared that Republicans want Americans to "die quickly."

 

 

MURFREESBORO, TN - Sixth District Congressional Candidate Lou Ann Zelenik today condemned a last minute contribution Congressman Bart Gordon provided to Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) the day after Grayson declared that Republicans want Americans to "die quickly."

As reported in the newspaper, The Hill, Gordon was one of several Democrat lawmakers to rush a contribution to Grayson one day after his remarks on the House floor and one day before the federal filing deadline.

In September, Grayson made the stunning remark that the Republican health care plan is for Americans to "die quickly" and compared the American health care system to the Holocaust. He was later forced to apologize to the Jewish community for his comments.

"With this contribution, we can now add Alan Grayson to Bart Gordon's Congressional Hall of Shame," Zelenik said. He supports the liberal agenda of Nancy Pelosi, he voted to allow Charles Rangel to retain his chairmanship while Rangel is investigated for tax evasion and now he rushes down the hall to hand a check to Alan Grayson. Congressman Grayson's comments are offensive and do nothing to improve the important health care debate. Gordon's contribution stands as a clear endorsement of these offensive comments and runs counter to the values of Tennesseans.

Once again, when the time came to stand up and be counted, Bart Gordon chose the liberals in Congress over the people of Tennessee."
