Zelenik Praised for Low-Tax Stand

Americans for Tax Refom commends Lou Ann for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.
Murfreesboro, Tennessee - Sixth District Congressional Candidate Lou Ann Zelenik has been recognized by the national group Americans for Tax Reform for her commitment to lowering taxes on working Tennessee families.
Last week at her kick-off reception, Zelenik signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge offered by ATR to all candidates running for state and federal office. Since 1986, the pledge has placed candidates on the record as opposing higher taxes on the American people.
In a release, ATR president Grover Norquist stated, "By signing the Pledge, Lou Ann Zelenik demonstrates that she understands the problems of hard-working taxpayers nationwide, but especially the taxpayers in Tennessee's 6th district."
"I am appreciative that ATR recognizes my commitment to Tennessee taxpayers." Zelenik said. "When we see the assault Bart Gordon and his liberal friends in Washington have launched on our economy, our free market system and particularly small business owners with their Cap and Trade scheme, health care takeover and 'stimulus' package, groups like ATR are needed now more than ever. I am proud to stand with them in a commitment to lower taxes and smaller government.
I ask Tennesseans to contrast my twenty-three years as a small business owner who created jobs to Gordon's twenty-five years as career politician who has created exploding deficits and larger government. The voters of the Sixth District can be assured I will fight everyday in Washington to let them keep more of the money they work so hard to earn."
