Lou Ann Zelenik has released her schedule for the Thursday and Friday Tea Party rallies, and tax protests. While April 15th is the filing deadline for most Americans to submit their IRS returns, it also makes the one year anniversary of the grassroots movement that has galvanized the opposition to massive increases in Federal spending, and the takeover of the healthcare system by the federal government.

"It is time to take a stand! No more politics as usual, politicians in Nashville and Washington have let us down. In a bad economy, their only answer is to tax and spend. They have lost touch with everyday Americans and that is why I organized the largest protest in Rutherford county history one year ago against Bart Gordon and why I will be at the Tea Parties this year!" Zelenik said.

The planned schedule for Lou Ann Zelenik is:

Thursday, April 15th:

  • 11:00 am-2:00 pm - The Nashville Tea Party @ The Municipal Auditorium
  • 4:15 pm arrival - The Wilson County Tax Day Tea Party @ Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet
  • 5:15 pm arrival - The Sumner County Tea Party @ Hendersonville City Hall
  • 7:15 pm arrival - The Putnam County Tea Party @ Cookeville Square

Friday, April 16th:

  • 5:00 pm - The Rutherford County Tea Party and Freedom Rally @ The Murfreesboro Square

Zelenik is campaigning for the Republican nomination for the congressional seat being vacated by Bart Gordon. She is a former Chair of the Rutherford County Republican Party, and was a key organizer for last years Tea Party protest, including a rally in Murfreesboro which drew over 3,000 people. She announced her candidacy last fall to take on Gordon, and he announced his retirement shortly thereafter.
