Lou Ann Zelenik Announces Area Director for Her Campaign

Sixth District Congressional Candidate, Lou Ann Zelenik, has announced the addition of a new area director for her campaign. Mary Ann Parks, of White House Tennessee, has assumed the duties and responsibilities of Northern Area Director. She will primarily focus her efforts on Robertson and Sumner Counties.
Murfreesboro---Sixth District Congressional Candidate, Lou Ann Zelenik, has announced the addition of a new area director for her campaign. Mary Ann Parks, of White House Tennessee, has assumed the duties and responsibilities of Northern Area Director. She will primarily focus her efforts on Robertson and Sumner Counties.
Ms. Parks will work closely with both the candidate and her campaign manager, Jay Heine, in directing grassroots, volunteer, and special events for those counties. " We feel very good about where the campaign is in Robertson and Sumner," said Zelenik. Mary Ann's willingness to take on these additional responsibilities can only strengthen an already successful organizing campaign."
Mary Ann Parks is a native of Nashville and attended Maryville College. She comes from a family that boasts eight generations in the United States Army. Her father retired a full colonel in the Tennessee National Guard and served as State Chaplain for many years. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the Confederacy.
Ms. Parks began in active politics by joining the Davidson County Young Republicans in 1985. She served as an officer for several years, and was on the committee that brought the national Young Republican Convention to Nashville in 1989. She worked on the Fred Thompson Presidential campaign, and then the McCain/Palin campaign. Most recently she worked in the successful campaign of Pat Marsh for State Representative in the 62nd district. "My background is in marketing and sales, but my passion is politics," said Ms. Parks.
She added, "Lou Ann Zelenik represents the best of the citizen politician. She is a strong conservative with the courage of her convictions. She is the one candidate who had the fortitude to take on Bart Gordon, and not decide to run when it became convenient. I am happy to do everything I can to help her become the next Representative from the Sixth District."
Zelenik further stated, " Mary Ann is the kind of person we want and need. She shares my common sense Tennessee values. I am humbled that she has agreed to do this."
Zelenik is campaigning for the Republican nomination for the congressional seat being vacated by Bart Gordon. She is a former Chair of the Rutherford County Republican Party, and was a key organizer for last year’s Tea Party protests, including a rally in Murfreesboro which drew over 3,000 people. She announced her candidacy last fall to take on Gordon, and he announced his retirement shortly thereafter.
