Sixth District Congressional Candidate Lou Ann Zelenik congratulates Rand Paul on his landslide victory in Kentucky. Rand Paul wins the Kentucky primary with almost 60% of the vote in a six way primary in what is now called the Randslide.

 

 

Murfreesboro-- Sixth District Congressional Candidate Lou Ann Zelenik congratulates Rand Paul on his landslide victory in Kentucky.  Rand Paul wins the Kentucky primary with almost 60% of the vote in a six way primary in what is now called the Randslide.   
 
“Rand Paul represents the type of leadership we need in Washington,  he would never sell his vote or compromise his beliefs for a special interest group,” said Zelenik.  “Like Rand Paul said tonight, the tea party will take our country back.  The elections held tonight represent the beginning of the end of politics as usual.”
 
Zelenik went on to say, “Rand Paul winning Kentucky,  Joe Sestak defeating Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania and Blanche Lincoln narrowly escaping defeat shows that our country is tired of politicians and the lies and compromises they peddle.  We see it here in Tennessee when politicians do backroom deals, hide the details of the TNInvesco scandal and get cozy with lobbyists and their money.  No more! It is time to take a stand.” 
 
Zelenik is campaigning for the Republican nomination for the congressional seat being vacated by Bart Gordon. She is a former Chair of the Rutherford County Republican Party, and was a key organizer for last year’s Tea Party protest, including a rally in Murfreesboro which drew over 3,000 people. She announced her candidacy last fall to take on Gordon, and he announced his retirement shortly thereafter.
