Lou Ann Zelenik Awarded "Conservative of the Year"

MurfreesboroTN -- Sixth District Congressional Candidate Lou Ann Zelenik was awarded the honor of "Conservative of the Year" at the banquet hosted by the National Fiscal Conservative-PAC on Saturday May 29th 2010. The banquet was held at the Sheraton Downtown in Nashville, TN. The NFC-PAC was holding the banquet to raise funds in support of conservative candidates across the country in this year's elections. Conservative Columnist, author and commentator, Ann Coulter was the featured speaker for the event, which drew approximately 400 people.

In announcing the award for Zelenik, NFC-PAC founder and chairman Bill Hemrick said, "Of all the candidates running across the country this year, Lou Ann Zelenik is the best qualified to lead and go to Washington to fight  for our nation. Her consistent efforts in party politics, and leading the grassroots tea party movement are a testament to her dedication to fiscal sanity, and smaller government."

 

Zelenik commented, "I am grateful for this honor, and believe it really belongs to the thousands of unsung heroes who are taking their time, spending their money, and letting their voices be heard this election year. I am more committed than ever to doing what I can to help take our country back."

 

Zelenik is campaigning for the GOP nomination in Tennessee's sixth congressional district. It has been held by long time Democrat Congressman Bart Gordon who announced his retirement late last year. Zelenik is a Murfreesboro businesswoman, former Chair of the Rutherford County GOP, and a leader in the Middle Tennessee Tea Party movement. She announce her candidacy last fall, and Gordon announced his retirement shortly afterwards."
